There are four basic modes of writing; Descriptive, Narrative, Expository, and Persuasive. There may be other categories such as creative, however we will focus on the basic forms.
Descriptive writing vividly portrays a person, place, or thing in such a way that the reader can visualize the topic and enter into the writer’s experience.
Narrative writing tells a story or part of a story.
Expository writing seeks to inform, explain, clarify, define or instruct.
